Cervix

Cervix cancer is preventable. Cervix cancer is also called cervical cancer. Small changes in the cervix can be found early and treated. 

The cervix the the lower narrow opening of the uterus (womb) that joins with the vagina.

The screening test for cervical cancer is the Pap test. A Pap test looks for changes on the cervix that could be an early warning that cancer may be starting.

A Pap test is done in your doctor's office or a clinic. 

Most women over 21 need a Pap test every 3 years.
